Strategy Committee

The Strategy Committee of TransContainer is tasked with developing recommendations for the Board of Directors. 

These cover areas such as outlining priority areas of the company’s business, devising company strategy, suggesting how best to implement it and controlling its implementation.

The Strategy Committee consists of 7 members.

Sergey Tugarinov was born in 1970

He graduated from Moscow State Aviation Institute (Technical Department), specialty "Spacecraft and boosters."

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

2016 – present            Vice Director General of the Centre for Corporate Transport Service - the branch of JSC RZD.

2014–2016                 Advisor to General Director of LLC GTI Management.

2012–2014                  Adviser to Director-General of LLC Sevtechnotrans,

2004–2012                  Deputy Director of the State Policy Department in the field of railway, sea and river transport, Director of the State Policy Department in the field of railway transport of the Ministry of Transport.

Citizenship: Russian Federation.

Mr. Tugarinov does not own shares or any other securities in the Company.

Petr Baskakov
General Director of the PJSC "TransContainer"

Petr Baskakov has been  the CEO since TransContainer’s formation as a joint stock company in 2006.

Petr has more than 24 years' experience in the Russian railway transportation industry, graduating from the Moscow Institute for Railway Transport Engineers in 1986 with a degree in the Management of Railway Transportation Processes.

Before joining TransContainer, Petr held management positions in the Podolsk Production and Railway Transportation Enterprise of the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

In 1993, he was appointed head of Moskva-Tovarnaya-Kurskaya station, a Moscow rail-side cargo terminal. Between 1999 and 2000, he worked in management positions in Moscow Railways, and was appointed head of the Moscow Railway Transportation equipment for shipping cargo via various means of transport. Containers are durable enough for repeated use and can be stacked. Containers are divided into medium-duty (three- and five-tonne), which conform to former Soviet Union standards and are still used for shipments in Russia and the CIS, and ISO (20- and 40-foot) containers, which are used for Russian and international shipments. The universal standard unit TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) was introduced to measure transport flow volumes.

Since 2003, Petr has been the head of TransContainer branch of OJSC Russian Railways and later OJSC TransContainer.

Richard Werner
Member of the Board of Directors

First elected to the Board of Directors in 2015.

Richard Werner was born in 1967.

In 1989 he graduated from the London School of Economics, University of London, with a Bachelor of Science (Economics) specialising in "International trade and development"; He subsequently studied for the M.Phil at the University of Oxford, Linacre College and completed coursework and exams in 1992. In 1990-1991 he was a graduate research student at the University of Tokyo, and in 1991 he became a visitor to the University of Tokyo, before becoming the first Shimomura Fellow at the Development Bank of Japan. Professor Werner taught Development, International and Monetary Economics at Sophia University, Tokyo, from 1997 to 2004, and was appointed Chair in International Banking at the University of Southampton in 2005. He is Director of the Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development at the Southampton Business School and Convenor of the Association for Research on Banking and the Economy, organising the ECOBATE events.
