PJSC TransContainer’s online store displays the ordered transportation on the map
PJSC TransContainer’s online store was launched in 2013, this service allows the Customers to execute an order for cargo Transportation equipment for shipping cargo via various means of transport. Containers are durable enough for repeated use and can be stacked. Containers are divided into medium-duty (three- and five-tonne), which conform to former Soviet Union standards and are still used for shipments in Russia and the CIS, and ISO (20- and 40-foot) containers, which are used for Russian and international shipments. The universal standard unit TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) was introduced to measure transport flow volumes.

It will take the system only 1-2 seconds to receive and display on the map information about container’s location under any order in the online mode, the system does not calculate it in advance nor store the information. The map automatically scales so that all the containers under an order fall within visible area.
“The availability of proper inner system of control over order fulfillment and usage of open standards of development and integration of software made it possible to solve the problem of containers’ location display on the map under an online-order in the shortest possible time (4 days before launch into commercial mode)”. In the future we are planning to elaborate the service by realizing the possibility to show on the map the history of each container movement, supply of a container to the Customer’s places of loading and unloading, interactive messages on the reasons for emergency situations”, noted Sergey Denisov, Deputy IT-Director of PJSC TransContainer.
iSales store was created on the basis of ICS Perevozki designed by Lester IT Company. Visualization of the location data under the orders executed in iSales is possible because of integration of ICS Perevozki and CITTrans reference system on the level of web-services and API.
